If you are, this specialised training is designed just for you.
It is estimated that one in five children grow up in a household with an alcohol problem.
Once they reach adulthood they will continue to face unique needs and challenges but with far less support, and few professionals fully understand the emotional, mental and relational impact of growing up in an alcoholic home.
As an experienced psychotherapist with lived experience as an ACoA, I wanted to use my dual perspective to develop training which offers a depth of understanding that goes beyond conventional academic learning.
By blending my personal insight with professional expertise, I’ve created a course that provides a profound understanding of a forgotten client group, and which is highly practical and directly applicable to your working practices.

ACoA Training for Therapists & Counsellors
This training is delivered online and hosted on Teachable, giving you immediate access whenever it suits you.
It is a two-hour, in-depth CPD programme designed to support thoughtful engagement with the material in your own time.
You are free to pause, revisit sections, and reflect as needed - allowing space for meaningful integration into your therapeutic practice.
The training includes a digital toolkit and a certificate of completion for your CPD portfolio.
Course fee: £60
This training is designed to enhance your professional insight and support your practice but it is not a substitute for therapy, clinical supervision, or medical advice. It offers information, reflection, and practical tools, not individual assessment or treatment guidance.
Each participant is responsible for applying the content within their own scope of practice and professional ethics. This training offers insight and guidance; how it is used in practice remains the responsibility of the learner.
